Journey – A Complete Production Opportunity for up and coming Choreographers.
A full production format, visibility at a major dance festival, personal mentoring, and creative freedom – designed for both emerging and established choreographers.

Journey is a unique format  for choreographers who want to take a new work from first ideas to full production. Unlike most residencies, Journey gives you access to every step of the process: research, rehearsal, and premiere.

Journey roadmap:

June 2026 – Research

Two weeks of daily studio (200 m2) access.

Mentoring available on request, tailored to your needs.

Focus areas include: dramaturgy, funding, and technical aspects of production.

Optional accommodation in Vienna can be arranged.

March 2027 – Rehearsal

2 Weeks with professional dancers provided by bluebox.

25 hours of rehearsal time with the cast.

Additional 24 hours of studio access outside of cast rehearsals.

Mentoring available if requested.

April 2027 – Premiere

Performance staged at the Odeon Theater in Vienna as part of the international dance festival Tanztage Wien.

Technical support provided by the festival team.

Professional video recording of your premiere.

Your work presented alongside established international dance artists.

Inclusion in the festival’s award show following the premiere.
