Dear dance friends,
We are happy to announce the fifth edition of the Bulgarian Dance Platform, taking place as part of the 19th Antistatic International Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance.
The organisers of the Bulgarian Dance Platform warmly invite you to Sofia, Bulgaria, from 16 to 19 May 2026, to experience a curated selection of choreographic works by independent Bulgarian dance artists. The selected works explore the boundaries of choreography and movement, questioning established aesthetics and forms within contemporary dance and performance.
Alongside the main performance programme, the Platform will host a series of meetings and informal gatherings with artists, as well as lively social events in the evenings.
The Bulgarian Dance Platform is an initiative of the Antistatic – International Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance (Sofia). The first edition took place in 2018.
The Platform presents a wide range of artistic achievements in contemporary dance and performance and aims to create new opportunities for Bulgarian artists across diverse genres and practices.
It encourages national and international collaboration and exchange among artists, performers, theoreticians, programmers, and curators.
The full BDP#5 programme will be announced in mid-March 2026.
