Renversons is seeking a choreographer to create a new work on the company for the Spring 2027 season.

As a company dedicated to intentional collaboration, conceptual contemporary ballet, and artist-centered process, this commission offers an opportunity for an emerging choreographer to create and premiere a new work on Renversons’ company dancers as part of our 2027 Spring Season in New York City.

We are seeking choreographers interested in ballet as an evolving form, artists whose work is conceptually ambitious, collaborative, and in conversation with ballet vocabulary while remaining open to experimentation, interdisciplinary practices, and new modes of storytelling.

The commissioned choreographer will receive:

– $1,200 stipend

– Weekly rehearsal time with company dancers from January–April 2027

– Costume budget and collaborative support with costume designer Lauren Carmen

– Full production support

– Professional performance video and photography

– Potential access to a rehearsal assistant, depending on project needs

Applicants will be selected by a panel of three professional choreographers: Minnie Lane, Mari Meade, and Gabrielle Lamb.

Finalist Notification + Interviews: October 2026

Final Notifications: November 2026

Rehearsals Begin: January 2027
